About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Programme Officer (READY) to support the implementation of Component 2 of the COFA READY project in the Republic of Palau. Working under the Programme Manager, the officer will help modernise national disaster management systems and strengthen readiness across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Programme Manager in day‑to‑day implementation of Component 2 activities.
- Coordinate closely with national and state government partners, UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical support for modernising disaster‑risk reduction and emergency‑management processes.
- Facilitate meetings, trainings and community outreach events.
- Collect, analyse and report data, and prepare programme documentation.
- Identify implementation challenges and propose practical solutions.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, Education or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree with at least two years relevant experience.
- Experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies and NGOs.
- Background in disaster risk reduction, preparedness, emergency management or humanitarian response.
- Proven experience in communication, coordination, meeting facilitation and community outreach.
- Experience in assessments, data collection, analysis and report writing is an advantage.
- Previous work with international humanitarian organisations in a multicultural setting is an advantage.

- Problem‑solving and ability to identify implementation challenges.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
